| Abstract: | Standard&Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'AA/A-1+' rating and 'A-1+' short-term rating on various obligations issued for and by Emory University based on a review of the university's liquidity for operations and long-term debt and commercial paper (CP). The rating also reflects Emory's substantial long-term investment portfolio, comprehensive academic programs, strong student quality, good financial performance, and a diverse base of revenues. The 'A-1+' rating reflects Emory's ability to meet optional and mandatory tenders under various interest-rate modes in the event of a failed remarketing. Emory uses a combination of high-quality fixed-income investments and external bank facilities to provide purchase support for both its variable-rate demand bonds and CP. The university has entered into liquidity agreements with three banks
