| Abstract: | Standard&Poor's Ratings Services raised its underlying rating (SPUR) on Edmond Public Works Authority (PWA), Okla.'s series 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005 sales tax and utility system revenue bonds one notch to 'AA-' from 'A+' based on the authority's maintenance of a strong financial position, including, what we believe is, very good debt service coverage, due to the strong sales tax revenue performance pledged to the bonds. The outlook is stable. In fiscal 2009, total sales tax revenues in Edmond, Okla. increased by nearly 7% despite the nationwide recession, as well as roughly 50% over the past five years. The rating also reflects, in our opinion, the authority's: Role as a distributor of competitively priced Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority |
