| Abstract: | U.S. children's apparel maker Carter's has completed its investigation of the accounting treatment of its margin support payments and filed its financial statements. The change in accounting treatment did not materially affect the prior-period financial statements. We are affirming our 'BB+' rating on the company. The stable rating outlook reflects our expectation that the company will maintain its solid market positions and current operating margins. On Jan. 20, 2010, Standard&Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its ratings on Atlanta, Ga.-based Carter's Inc., including the 'BB+' corporate credit rating. At the same time, we removed the corporate credit rating and issue-level ratings on the company's debt from CreditWatch, where they were placed with negative implications Nov. 11, 2009.
