Abstract: NEW YORK (Standard&Poor's) Nov. 6, 2009--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said it raised its rating to 'AA' from 'AA-' on Pitt County, N.C.'s outstanding general obligation (GO) bonds. We also raised to 'AA-' from 'A+' the rating on the county's outstanding appropriation-secured debt, which is linked directly to the GO rating. In addition, we assigned a 'AA-' rating to Pitt County's 2009 limited obligation bonds (appropriation). The outlook on all the ratings is stable. "The raised GO debt rating reflects the county's continued economic expansion and very strong financial position," said Standard&Poor's credit analyst Armen Hratchian.
