| Abstract: | The ratings assigned to Home Equity Mortgage Loan Asset-Backed Trust Series SPMD 2000-A's home equity mortgage loan asset-backed certificates series SPMD 2000-A are based on a level of credit enhancement that meets Standard & Poor's requirements given the quality of the loans, distribution of the mortgaged properties, and a legal structure designed to minimize the potential losses to certificateholders due to the insolvency of the issuer (see table 1). The certificates of each loan group represent ownership interest in a trust consisting of two pools of mortgage loans secured by conventional, residential, adjustable-, and fixed-rate mortgage loans on one- to four-family properties.
