We are publishing this article to help market participants better understand our approach to reviewing the revenue outlook for financial institutions operating as global broker-dealers. This article is related to our criteria article "Principles Of Corporate And Government Ratings," which we published on June 26, 2007, on RatingsDirect. This article expands upon our general earnings criteria for financial institutions (see "FI Criteria: Bank Rating Analysis Methodology Profile," published on March 18, 2004).
