Abstract: MEXICO CITY (Standard&Poor's) July 2, 2009--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that its ratings on Mexico City, Mexico-based Controladora Mabe S.A. de C.V. (Mabe; BBB-/Negative/--) are not affected by the company's announcement that it has completed the acquisition of BSH Continental Electrodomesticos in Brazil, a subsidiary of BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete GmbH, for approximately $35 million. The transaction will be mainly financed through a capital injection from its stockholders and Brazilian partners. Although this transaction represents an important challenge due to the size and competitiveness of the Brazilian market, we recognize that Mabe has successfully integrated acquisitions in the past.
