Abstract:
Unconfirmed media reports indicate that U.S. close-out retailer Big Lots may not be purchased by a group of private-equity firms. All of the company's ratings remain on CreditWatch with negative implications, where they were placed on Feb. 8, 2011. We expect to resolve the credit watch status within the next 30 to 60 days after assessing the company's future strategic plans, financial policy, and operating performance. CHICAGO (Standard&Poor's) May 20, 2011--Standard&Poor's Ratings Services said today that all of its ratings on Columbus, Ohio-based Big Lots Inc., including the 'BBB' corporate credit rating, remain on CreditWatch with negative implications.
