...The Authority operates a combined enterprise system, which includes 11 airports and 9 seaport facilities. The major facilities - San Juan Luis Munoz Marin International Airpor t (LMM) and San Juan Harbor cruise and cargo facilities - are essential to the Puerto Rico econom y, as they serve as an important gate way for Puerto Rican communities in the U.S. and vacationers primarily from the U.S. and Europe. LMM serves primarily O&D passengers, which repre- sented 74% of FY2003 enplanements, and offers the majority of commercial air service to and from the island. The Authority also operates a smaller, growing commercial air port located in Aguadilla on the northwest coast, as well as nine general aviation airports that are geographically dispersed around Puerto Rico. Maritime facilities in San Juan Harbor handle the majority of cruise and cargo activity.
