...Moody's maintains a bank financial strength rating (BFSR) of C- on Bank Hapoalim ("Hapoalim"), equivalent to a Baseline Credit Assessment (BCA) of Baa1, based on the bank's dominant franchise in Israel and its adequate financial fundamentals, characterised by satisfactory capitalisation and liquidity. At the same time, the BFSR is constrained by the bank's high concentration towards groups of borrowers and companies in the real estate sector, which could be affected by the global crisis. The rating also comes under pressure due to the bank's deteriorating asset quality, lower earnings power and reduced profitability. The rating also takes into account the increasingly challenging economic and operating conditions in the bank's domicile....
