DOMESTIC POLITICS: The ruling centre-right New Democracy (ND) holds a slim majority in parliament of 151 seats out of 300. ND trailed the main opposition Pasok by 4.3 percentage points in the European Parliament elections held on June 7th. Beset by allegations of corruption, and struggling to ameliorate the impact on Greece of the global recession, the government will remain fragile.
