DOMESTIC POLITICS: Political stability in BiH remains elusive, in spite of the appointment in June 2009 of Mustafa Mujezinovic as prime minister of BiH's larger entity, the Federation, following the resignation of Nedzad Brankovic. However, apart from the prime minister, the composition of the government has barely changed, and with elections due at all levels of government in October 2010, it is unlikely that the authorities will embark before then on any significant reforms to accelerate BiH's integration with the EU. The uncertainty over the future shape of Bosnian politics is made more acute by a continuing dispute between BiH's other entity, the RS, and the international High Representative in BiH, Valentin Inzko, about the extent of the RS's autonomy and about the limits to Mr Inzko's powers as High Representative. Until these issues are resolved, little (if any) progress can be expected on constitutional amendments, which are part of the reform agenda that is backed by the EU and the US.
