DOMESTIC POLITICS: Support for the FPO fell from 17.5% at the 2008 general election to 12.7% in the European elections. The FPO's European election campaign was highly provocative to both Muslims and Jews, which would render it more difficult both domestically and internationally for the OVP to form a future coalition with the FPO than it was in 1999-2006, when such a coalition was in office. There is therefore no clear alternative to the current SPO-OVP coalition.
