| The Group's principal activities are to generate, purchase, transmit and distribute electricity and natural gas. It operates through three segments: Electric Utility, Natural Gas Utility and Other. The Electric Utility segment generates, transmits and distributes electricity in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Colorado, Texas and New Mexico. It provides wholesale transmission service to various entities in the United States. The Natural Gas Utility segment transports, stores and distributes natural gas primarily in portions of Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Michigan and Colorado. The Other segment develops, acquires, owns and operates energy-related businesses, including independent power production, commercial and industrial heating and cooling and energy-related refuse-derived fuel production. |
