The Group's principal activity is operating retail chain stores, department stores and specialty stores. It has two business segments, Retail and Financial Services. Retail offers a range of clothing, homeware and food under such brands as Country Road and Woolworths in South Africa and the Middle East. It also operates in Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia. Financial Services offers store card, personal loans and visa card.
