| The Group's principal activities are to manufacture and provide technology-based equipment and services for locomotives, railway freight cars and passenger transit vehicles. The products include electronic controls and monitors, air brakes, traction motors, cooling equipment, turbochargers, low-horsepower locomotives, couplers and brake shoes. It operates through two segments: the Freight group and the Transit group. The Freight group manufactures products and provides services geared to the production and operation of freight cars and locomotives including braking control equipment, engines, traction motors, on-board electronic systems and train coupler equipment. The Transit group provides products for passenger transit vehicles especially subways, rail and buses that include braking and monitoring systems, climate control and door equipment. In 05-Dec-2008, it acquired Standard Car Truck Company and on 30-Jun-2008, POLI SpA. |
