The Group's principal activity is to operate a chain of retail drugstores that sells prescription and nonprescription drugs. These drugstores also carry additional product lines like general merchandise. They include cosmetics, toiletries, household items, food beverages and photofinishing. Customer prescription purchases can be made at the drugstores as well as through the mail, by telephone and on the Internet. The Group markets its products under various trademarks, trade dress and trade names and holds assorted business licenses (pharmacy, occupational, liquor etc.) having various lives. As on 31-Aug-2008, the Group operated 6,934 locations in 49 states, the district of Colombia, Puerto Rico and Guam. During the year, the Group acquired I-trax Inc and Whole Health Management.
