The Group's principal activity is that of an international industrial and investment group focusing on the aluminium industry. It operates in four segments Primaryaluminium, Aluminium products, Corporate and Others and Bauxite. Primary aluminium, a highly cyclical commodity affected by global demand and supply conditions. Aluminium products include primary and processed aluminium products. The Group expande to China through the investment in Everwide Industrial Limited which is involved in the production of aluminium and energy. Corporate & Others include corporate activities, intercompany eliminations and non-allocatable items. Bauxite is the raw material from which alumina is refined. The Group operates in China, Romania and Sierra Leone. On 3-Jan-2008, the Group acquired Linzhou Linfeng Aluminium and Power Company Limited followed by Linzhou Hongfeng Aluminium Limited on 16-May-2008 and Global Aluminium Limited on 25-Jul-2008.
