| The Group's principal activities are manufacture, marketing and distribution of consumer electronics, particularly television sets. It operates in three main segments: Television and Electronic devices, White Goods and Other. Its product includes liquid crystal display (LCD) television sets, plasma TV, 100 Hz TV, 16:9 wide screen TV, TV and digital video disc player (DVD) combinations, digital TV and mobile TV, besides the 37 through 87 centimeter (cm) standard television sets. The Group manufactures products of international brands, such as JVC, Hitachi, Sharp, Sanyo, LG and Toshiba. In 2008, it carried out its research and development activities in the United Kingdom, and domestically at three facilities in Istanbul, Manisa and Izmir. The Group exports to 108 countries around the world, primarily European Union countries. |
