| The Group's principal activity is to develop and market conventional and nicotine-free cigarette products. The Group operates in two segments: Liggett and Vector Tobacco. The Liggett segment consists of the manufacture and sale of conventional cigarettes, as well as the operations of Medallion Company Inc. The Vector Tobacco segment includes the development and marketing of the low nicotine and nicotine-free cigarette products, as well as, the development of reduced risk cigarette products. The Group's majority owned subsidiary, New Valley Corporation, is engaged in the real estate business and is seeking to acquire additional operating companies and real estate properties. The customers include candy and tobacco distributors, the military, warehouse club chains, and large grocery, drug and convenience store chains. |
