| The Group's principal activity is to market branded and unbranded refined products on a wholesale basis in the United States and Canada through an extensive bulk and rack marketing network. The Group operates in two segments: Refining and Retail. The Refining segment includes refining operations, wholesale marketing, product supply and distribution and transportation operations. The Retail segment includes company-operated convenience stores, Canadian dealers and jobbers, truckstop facilities, cardlock facilities and home heating oil operations. As of 31- Jan-2009, the Group operated 16 refineries located in the United States, Canada, and Aruba that produce conventional gasolines, distillates, jet fuel, asphalt, petrochemicals, lubricants and other refined products. Its primary wholesale and retail brand names includes Valero(R), Diamond Shamrock(R), Shamrock(R), Ultramar(R), Beacon(R), Corner Store(R), and Stop N Go(R). |
