| The Group's principal activity is to invest in companies whose core business is within production, processing and distribution of raw materials. Since the Group was founded in the early 1980s, it has put its main focus on vegetable oils and in particular palm oil from Asia and world-wide edible oil refining activities, especially within the confectionery fat sector though Aarhus Karlshamn AB. UIE's two most important investments are Aarhus Karlshamn AB and United Plantations Berhad. The Group also has substantial equity investments in associated companies, whose primary operations are the production and processing of oils and fats in North and Central America and in Europe and farming operations in Australia and Swaziland. |
