| The Group's principal activity is to provide community and mortgage banking services. It accepts demand deposits, savings deposits, money market accounts, certificates of deposits and time deposits. The Group lends commercial loans, construction loans, residential mortgage loans, commercial mortgage loans, residential real estate loans, construction loans and consumer loans. It also provides retirement accounts, safe deposit boxes and other standard banking products and services. As of December 31, 2007, there were 72 bank holding companies operating in the State of West Virginia registered with the Federal Reserve System and West Virginia Board of Banking and Financial Institutions and 99 bank holding companies operating in the Commonwealth of Virginia registered with the Federal Reserve System and the Virginia Corporation Commission. |
