| The Group's principal activity is the operation of a network air carrier through its wholly owned subsidiaries, US Airways, Piedmont Airlines Inc, PSA Airlines Inc, Material Services Company Inc, and Airways Assurance Ltd. The flight equipment of all these carriers is combined to form one fleet that is deployed through a single route scheduling system. The Group offers scheduled passenger service on approximately 3,800 flights daily to 230 communities in the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe. As of 31-Dec-2007, the Group operated 356 jet aircrafts and employed approximately 34,400 employees. |
