| The Group's principal activities are mining for surface and underground coal, property regeneration and management, and power generation. The Group operates four deep mines, located in Central and Northern England and six active surface mines spread across the United Kingdom. It also provides electrical power generation capacity, utilising waste gas from mines and developing alternative power generation opportunities, including wind farms. In addition, the Group has a portfolio of around 46,500 acres and has identified some 3,696 net acres of this land as offering prime prospects for a mix of business parks, residential, distribution and community development. |
