The Group's principal activity is production and marketing of petroleum and petrochemical products. It operates in in two main segments: Refining and Distribution. These include crude oil supply and refining; the import and export of petroleum products; the establishment or acquisition and subsequent operation of petroleum refineries and new units; the establishment and operation of factories and plants in the petrochemical industry; trading in the domestic and foreign petroleum and petrochemical markets, and the establishment and operation of power stations and plants in the energy sector and related fields. It operates four refineries in Izmit, Izmir, Kirikkale and Batman, as well as a petrochemical facility, a sea transportation company and a distribution company. The Group imports crude oil from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Libya and Russia, and exports its processed products to the United States, the European Union, Northern Cyprus and Singapore.
