| The Group's principal activity is to provide specialized property and casualty insurance products and services to small and mid-sized businesses and to individuals. The Group operates in three segments: Insurance, Reinsurance and Insurance services. Insurance segment provides commercial lines policies to businesses and personal lines policies to individuals in New York state. Reinsurance segment accepts and assumes reinsurance directly from issuing companies or indirectly from reinsurers. Insurance services segment generates commission income by producing premiums on behalf of its issuing companies and generates fees by providing claims administration and reinsurance intermediary services. On April 2007, it completed the acquisition of Preserver Pursuant. |
