| The Group's principal activity is off-price retail operation of apparel and home fashions in the United States and worldwide. The Group operates through six segments. It offers off-price family apparel and home fashions through T.K. Maxx, Marshalls and A.J. Wright chains in the United States, Winners chain in Canada and T.K. Maxx chain in Europe. The Group also operates HomeGoods in the United States, a chain that focuses exclusively on off-price home fashions and has a Canadian home fashions chain called HomeSense. The trademarks of the Group include T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods, Winners, HomeSense, T.K. Maxx, A.J. Wright and Bob's Stores. As on 26-Jan-2008, the Group operated 847 T.J. Maxx stores, 776 Marshalls stores, 289 HomeGoods stores, 129 A.J. Wright stores and 34 Bob's stores in the United States. In Canada, the Group operates 191 Winners and 71 HomeSense stores, and in Europe, 226 T.K. Maxx stores. |
