| The Group's principal activities are to acquire, develop, build, own and operate power production and delivery facilities. The Group operates in two segments: Electric Utilities and Other. Electric Utilities generate and sell electricity to retail and wholesale customers in the Southeast. The other segment provides telecommunications, energy products and services and investment in synthetic fuels and leveraged lease projects. The energy related services are provided to utilities and industrial companies. The Group operates its business through its five retail operating companies including Alabama Power, Georgia Power, Gulf Power, Mississippi Power and Savannah Electric. It solely operates in domestic market. |
