| The Group's principal activity is to manufacture and market lawn and garden care products. It operates through four segments: North America: Provides weed and pest-free lawns, gardens and indoor plants. Scotts Lawnservice(R): Provides residential lawn care, lawn aeration, tree and shrub care and external pest control services. International: Markets consumer lawn and garden products in more than 25 countries outside North American and also sells a broad line of professional products to commercial nurseries, greenhouses and specialty retailers throughout Europe. Corporate and Other: Consists the business of Smith and Hawken(R), a manufacturer and distributor of outdoor living and gardening lifestyle products. The major customers include home improvement centers, mass merchandisers, warehouse clubs, hardware stores, garden centers, food and drug stores, commercial and specialty crop growers. |
