The Group's principal activities are to operate women apparel specialty stores, under the names dressbarn, dressbarn woman and maurices. It operates in two segments: Dressbarn and Maurices. It offers in-season, moderate to quality career and casual fashion apparels to women. The Combo stores offer a combination of Dress Barn and Dress Barn Woman merchandise. The Group also offers other wardrobe items, including accessories, hosiery, handbags and shoes. As on 25-Jul-2009, the Group operated 1,559 stores in 48 states including 684 Dress Barn Combo stors, 721 Maurices stores, 120 Dress Barn stores and 34 Dress Barn women stores. The Group operates only in the United States of America; its dressbarn stores are primarily concentrated in the northeast while the maurices stores are primarily concentrated in the midwest.
