| The Group's principal activity is to provide digital television entertainment, broadband satellite networks and services, global video and data broadcasting. It operates in two segments: The DIRECTV U.S provides DTH digital television services and multi-channel video programming distribution in the United States. It also provides its customers with access to hundreds of channels of digital-quality video pictures and CD-quality sound programming that are transmitted directly to its customers' homes or businesses via high-powered geosynchronous satellites. The DIRECTV Latin America provides digital DTH digital television services throughout Latin America, which includes South America, Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. As of 30-Jan-2007, the Group acquired Darlene Investments LLC. |
