| The Group's principal activities are underwriting of property and casualty insurance, investment in securities and real estate development. The property and casualty operations include three reportable segments and also investment function. These segments are personal insurance, commercial insurance and specialty insurance. The personal classes include automobile, homeowners and other personal coverage. The commercial classes include multiple peril, casualty, workers' compensation and property and marine. The specialty classes include executive protection and professional liability products, surety and accident businesses, as well as our reinsurance assumed business. The Group has insurance operations in Canada, Europe, Australia and part of Latin America and Asia. Real estate activities are conducted through the subsidiary, Bellemead Development Corporation, primarily in New Jersey and central Florida. |
