Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) is engaged in the business of the generation, transmission, distribution and sales of electricity. The Company operates in three divisions: Generation Division, Transmission Division and Distribution Division. In Peninsular Malaysia, the Company is a contributor to the total industry capacity through six thermal stations and three hydroelectric schemes. It also manages and operates the National Grid, which links TNB power stations and IPPs to the distribution network in the peninsula. The grid is connected to Thailand's transmission system in the north and Singapore's transmission system in the south. The Generation Division is responsible for generating electricity at the Company’s six thermal power stations and three hydroelectric power generating schemes in Peninsular Malaysia. The Transmission Division transports electricity from power generators to distributors and industrial customers. The Distribution Division is responsible for network delivery.
