| The Group's principal activities are hydrocarbon exploration and production, gas processing and power generation, marketing of oil products, sales of gas and gas products and, petrochemical production. It operates in 3 oil and gas bearing provinces located in Western Siberia, Eastern Siberia, and Timano-Pechora province. The group operates through 84 wells, which produced 600,000 tons of oil at year-end 2008. It processed 7.2bn cub m of gas, produced 6.8bn cub m of dry gas and about 600,000 tons of liquid hydrocarbons in 2008. Its 59 divisions are involved in the prospecting and reservoir management operations, construction of facilities and pipelines, environmental safety, and process automation. Its refinery produces 58 types of petroleum products including all types of motor fuels, aromatics, liquid paraffin, roofing and insulation materials. Its retail chain includes 6 marketing companies which operate 306 retail outlets and 28 tank farms for fuel storage. |
