| The Group's principal activity is to provide deposit, credit, trust and investment services. It operates through four business segments: Retail and Commercial, Wholesale, Wealth and Investment Management and Mortgage. Retail and Commercial segment serves consumers, businessess and provide services for the clients of its others businessess. Wholesale Segments business include Middle Market which serves commercial clients, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate and investors and SunTrust Robinson Humprey. Mortgage segment offers residential mortgage products nationally through its retail, broker and correspondent channels. Wealth and Investment Management segment priovides a full array of wealth management products and professional services to both individual and institutional clients. On 1-May-2008 the Group acquired GB&T Bancshares Inc. |
