| The Group's principal activities are to design, manufacture and market musical instruments. It operates through its wholly-owned subsidiaries: The Steinway Piano Company Inc and Conn-Selmer Inc. The Group operates through two segments namely the Piano segment and the Band and Orchestral Instruments segment. The Piano segment concentrates on the high-end grand piano market, handcrafting Steinway pianos in New York and Germany. The Band & Orchestral Instrument segment designs and manufactures brass, woodwind, percussion, and string instruments. These instruments are sold under the Bach, Selmer, C. G. Conn, King, Armstrong, Holton, Martin, Vito, Emerson, Noblet, Artley and Benge brand names. The Group markets its products in the United States, Germany, Japan, China, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy and France. |
