The Group's principal activity is to design and manufacture office furniture. The Group offers products with a variety of aesthetic options and performance features that address the architecture, furniture and technology of an office environment. The Group operates in three segments: North America segment consists of manufacturing and sales operations in the United States and Canada. Steelcase Design Partnership (SDP) focuses on higher-end design furniture products and niche applications for lobby and reception areas, conference rooms and private offices. International segment includes sales and manufacturing operations of the Steelcase and Werndl brands outside the United States and Canada. The Group also provides leasing services to customers to facilitate the purchase of their products and provides selected financing services to their dealers. In 2008, it acquired Ultra Group Company Limited.
