| The Group's principal activities are to produce copper and operate mines, smelts and refining facilities. The copper operations of the Group involve the mining, milling and flotation of copper ore to produce copper concentrates. The smelting of copper concentrates to produce blister copper and the refining of blister copper to produce copper cathodes. The Group also produces refined copper using solvent extraction and electrowinning technology. The Group's products are exported to customers principally in Europe, Asia and South America. On 01-Apr-2005, the Group acquired Minera Mexico S.A. de C.V. |
