The Group's principal activity is to own and operate companies specializing in 3 sectors: Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals and Plastics. The Pharmaceuticals segment is active in the therapeutic areas of cardiology, gastroenterology, mental health and gynecology/andrology. The Chemicals segment focuses on 3 main areas: the Minerals pole including Soda ash and its derivatives barium strontium carbonates and advanced functional minerals; the Halogens pole including electrochemistry and fluorinated gas; and the Oxygen pole including peroxygens & caprolactones. The Plastics segment includes specialty polymers, vinyl's resins (Polyvinyl Chloride), performance compounds, industrial foils, integrated fuel systems and pipes and fittings systems. The Group's customers are from the automobile, construction, architecture, chemical, glass, electricity and electronics industries. In 2008, the Group acquired Alexandria Sodium Carbonate Company.
