The Group's principal activity is to provide banking facilities. It operates under four segments. Under RETAIL BANKING, it operates two distribution networks namely Societe Generale and Credit du Nord. The services include consumer lending and insurance, custody services and retail banking. CORPORATE AND INVESTMENT BANKING provides investment banking services including foreign exchange activities, Equity and Advisory comprising trading, primary market activities, brokerage, mergers and acquisitions and asset finance. GLOBAL INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT & SERVICES provides services in the field of asset management, private and online banking, multi asset brokerage business and securities services. CORPORATE CENTER sector provides funding for the divisions. In 2007, the Group acquired Transcoso Participacoes. In 2008, the Group acquired Capitalia, Canadian Wealth Management and Rosbank. The Group operates in France, Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States.
