| The Group's principal activity is to manufacture and market paperboard and paper-based packaging in North America. The Group conducts its business operations through its wholly-owned subsidiary Smurfit-Stone Container Enterprises, Inc. a Delaware corporation. SSCE is the surviving company resulting from the merger. Its major products are containerboard, corrugated containers, SBS, market pulp, recycled fiber and kraft paper. The Group's operating facilities and customers are located primarily in the United States and Canada. At 31-Dec-2007, the Group operated 16 paper mills, 124 container plants, 1 wood product plant, and other converting plants. |
