| The Group's principal activities are hog production and pork processing. It operates through five segments: Pork, Beef, Hog Production (HP), International and Other. The Pork segment produces fresh pork and processed meat products in the United States and markets in Canada, Japan and Mexico. The Beef segment produces boxed beef and ground beef and markets in the United States Canada, China, Japan, Mexico and South Korea. The Hog Production segment is vertically integrated into hog production. The International segment consists of international meat processing operations that produce a variety of fresh and processed meats products. The Other segment comprised of Turkey production operations. In May 2007 it acquired Premium Standard Farms Inc. |
