Thomson Financial Business Description:
| The Group's principal activity is wholesale supply of food to the catering trade and the retail business, as well as non-food items (such as furniture, kitchen and cooking equipment) to the catering trade in the Netherlands. It operates in three segments: Foodservice, Food Retail and Retail Property. The Foodservice activities comprise two businesses. Sligro offers both cash-and-carry and delivery services serving restaurants and bars, volume users, company caterers, small and medium-sized enterprises and smaller retailers. Inversco-Van Hoeckel specialises in large foodservice accounts, such as institutional customers and national chains. The Food Retail activities comprise 150 full-service supermarkets, of which over 80 are operated by the group itself and 70 by independent food retailers. Retail Property comprises of the leasing of store premises. The Group operates in The Netherlands. The Group acquired Desimo in 2007. |
