The Group's principal activity is to offer shopping options and home-related services. It operates through two segments: Merchandising and Real Estate Joint Ventures. Merchandising segment includes department stores, catalogue operations, furniture and appliances, dealer stores, outlets stores and products and services offered under the Sears HomeCentral banner. As on 06-May-2009, the Group operates with a network of 198 corporate stores, 187 dealer stores, 44 home improvement showrooms, over 1,850 catalogue merchandise pick-up locations, 106 Sears Travel offices and a nationwide home maintenance, repair and installation network.
