| The Group's principal activity is to publish and distribute children's books. It operates in four segments: Children's Book Publishing and Distribution; Educational Publishing; Media, Licensing and Advertising and International. The Group creates educational and entertainment materials and products for use in school and at home, including magazines, children's reference and non-fiction materials, teacher materials, television programming, film, videos and toys. It distributes its products and services through these proprietary channels, as well as directly to schools and libraries, through retail stores and through the internet. The Group's original publications include Harry Potter, The 39 Clues, The Magic School Bus, I Spy, Captain Underpants, Goosebumps and Clifford The Big Red Dog and licensed properties such as Star Wars, Rainbow Magic, Littlest Pet Shop and Bakugan. |
