The Group's principal activities are manufacturing, wholesale and retail trading in various types of food and related products. It operates in two segments: Manufacturing/ Wholesale and Retail. Manufacturing/Wholesale includes manufacturing and marketing of vegetable oils. Retail includes retail outlets and retail super stores. In addition, the Group also has packaging materials and fast food operations. These operations are carried out through Afia International (Edible Oils & Fats), Azizia Panda United (Retail), United Sugar Company (Sugar), Savola Packaging (Plastic), Al-Marai Company (Dairy) and Herfy Food Services Company (Fast Food). The Group's retail business trades under the Panda and HyperPanda Brand names and at the end of Dec-2005 operated 3 hypermarkets and 47 supermarkets. It operates mainly in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran. The Group operates mainly in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran. On 01-Jan-2008, the Group acquired Kugu Gida Yatum Ve Ticaret A. S.
