Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) is a Saudi Arabia-based public shareholding company engaged in the petrochemical industry sector. The Company owns, establishes, operates and manages industrial projects related to chemical and petrochemical industries. The Company manufactures and markets methanol, butanediol, tetrahydrofuran, acetic acid, acetic anhydride and vinyl acetate monomer, as well as carbon monoxide through its various affiliates. The Company serves in the construction, solvents, automotive, electronics, polymer, coatings, and pharmaceutical industries. As of December 31, 2011, the Company operated through its subsidiaries, including International Methanol Company (IMC), International Diol Company (IDC), International Acetyl Company Ltd. (IAC) and International Vinyl Acetate Company Ltd., among others.
