| The Group's principal activities are to process and distribute metal, plastic and related industrial products and services. It operates through two segments: packaging and metal processing. Packaging comprises the manufacture and distribution of steel and plastic strapping, related machinery and tools in North America and distribution activities in Europe and other key markets. It also includes the distribution of specialized metal products, wire rope and chain in Canada. Metal Processing comprises the manufacture of stainless steel and carbon steel tubular products, welded tubular assemblies, roll formed products, steel pickling and processing and steel pressure vessels. On 31-Jan-2008, it acquired Tubular Products Company. On 27-Feb-2008, the Group acquired Omega Joists Inc. |
