The Group's principal activity is to provide retail financial services to households and small and medium sized businesses. The group operates in three segments: SNS Bank, REAAL Verzekeringen and Group Activities. On 29th of April 2008 the Group acquired the Dutch and Belgium activities from Swiss Life.
